I’ve got two stories today. First, from the “We don’t hate the MSM enough” files comes the story of Tasia Fortune, a black 29-year-old mother of four who was found hanging from a tree in front of an abandoned house in Jackson, Mississippi.
It turns out that Jake Tapper still has a show on CNN…because alternating between lying and being wrong for many years does not disqualify you from having a show on CNN. His show is called “The Lead, and on it he threw to a black local reporter for a report about Fortune’s death. The story focused on race. Unexpectedly!
The reporter started with a lot of tortuously indirect language. “To this point, the police have not indicated publicly whether they officially consider her death suspicious…. They haven’t identified publicly any suspects.” Local city officials “have been very deliberative in their message…not jumping to any premature conclusions, or even offering any speculation…. Again, a lot we still don’t know here.”
Okay, so far, so vague. Nobody is talking publicly, no one is officially considering anything to be anything, no suspects publicly identified, no premature conclusions being jumped to. No one’s even offering any speculation.
I mean, except for CNN.
Because after all that nothingness – which suggested to my non-journalist’s ears that maybe they should have waited a little longer to report on this story, given how little they seem to know about the details – the reporter put on his conclusion-jumping boots and started stomping.
“But obviously the raw imagery of a black person hanging from the tree in the South evokes a very painful history.”
Yes, obviously. At least for anyone who obsesses about race 24/7, and is willing to jump back many decades to one or two examples in the last 70 years.
If I had a crack research staff, this is when I would have them look through the stories reporting on the many deaths of females in the recent incompetent-leftist-governance-caused wildfires in California, to see if any reporters started a story with, “Obviously the raw imagery of women caught in fatal fires evokes a very painful history of witch burning in this country.”
But lest you think that Jake and the local reporter were about to be made to look ridiculous – spoiler alert – it’s not just this one possible, not-officially-confirmed lynching that has given them early-onset Pulitzer fever. Because this possible lynching is just part of a pattern of possible recent lynchings.
The local reporter referred to “the other two cases of people found hanging in Mississippi.” Which I think we can all agree constitutes an epidemic of lynching!
Except the reporter had to admit that in the first case, a young black man’s hanging death was ruled a suicide. And the second hanged man had been homeless, and his death was also ruled to be a suicide. Oh, and he was white.
So as I do a little quick math, I come to the conclusion that fully 33% of the recent, possible lynching-adjacent hanging deaths happened to a white guy who killed himself, and that a second 33% was also a suicide.
But don’t jump to any premature conclusions that maybe there is NOT an epidemic of white supremacist lynchings happening throughout the south, because the other 33% of cases (i.e. Tasia Fortune) was likely lynched by some Klan guys. Probably because they were furious that their leftist sponsors at the Southern Poverty Law Center had pulled their funding.
Anyway, Jake Tapper is on the case, and he’s going to get to the bottom of this, and bring the racist white nationalist perpetrators to justice!
Annnnnddddd…it turns out the police had already questioned Tasia’s black boyfriend, and then charged him in her death.
I’m not making that up. In a story that was two minutes and thirty seconds long, CNN spent one minute and thirty seconds reporting that the police have not officially said anything at all, and that the black community is worried. Then they spent the last minute speculating that the other two non-lynching suicides might be a pattern of lynchings.
Which left them no time to mention the tiny, insignificant detail that [begin Kinison filter] THE POLICE HAVE CHARGED HER BLACK BOYFRIEND WITH HER MURDER!!!! OH! OHHHHHH!!!! [end Kinison filter]
As the category name says, we don’t hate the media enough.
In other leftist racism news, I’m a little sad that we won’t have Francesca Hong to kick around anymore. The communist, racist DSA candidate for the Dem nomination in the Wisconsin governor’s race unexpectedly lost by one point this week, to another far-left nut job who had brilliantly managed to NOT say that he hates cops, and Wisconsin, and apple pie, and Thanksgiving.
I’m not sure why Hong got the gong. She was up almost 20 points a few weeks ago, and she had all the right beliefs: socialism will work this time, America is terrible, police and prisons cause crime. And boy, did she hate whitey!
Of course, she married a white guy, and had a half-white son with him, which you might think would indicate that she’s not a viciously anti-white racist. Unless you heard her recent, super-creepy interview on the subject. She criticized herself for not being aware of “communities of color,” which she attributed to the fact that “for [her], assimilation always took over.”
And if there’s one thing that the left hates about immigrants, it’s when they try to actually assimilate to America. Yuck.
Then, in a very telling moment, she couldn’t even bring herself to say the shameful words, “I married a white guy. Instead, she said, “I did marry a…um…. My proximity to whiteness continues, right? My son is bi-racial, he’s half white and half Korean.” And then she blathered on about the difficulties of “navigating his identity” and “how people perceive him” and blah blah blah.
Good lord. I’ve noticed that several high-profile whitey-hating leftist women somehow ended up dating or marrying white men – after Ilhan divorced her brother and then another black Muslim man, she ended up with a white guy, and AOC was in a four-year relationship with the whitest of the white guys, a doughy ginger! – and I don’t get it.
The way Hong talked about “proximity to whiteness” – as if it were a dangerous exposure to a deadly disease – makes no sense. Because if I remember my biology classes at all, in the process of making her baby, who was half… you know, you know the thing… Hong had to get pretty darned exposed to whiteness. One might even say “intertwined with” whiteness.
(One might even say that Hong “put the ‘ass’ in ‘assimilation,” if one were not a scholar and a gentleman, like me.)
Anyway, the electorate in Wisconsin is about 80% white, and maybe enough of those people weren’t thrilled to hear Hong talk about “whiteness” the way you might talk about “ebola” or “dengue fever.” And now, the Hong Dynasty is over before it began.
Though I don’t want to send you into the weekend on an ominous note, I have to point out that the guy who edged out the Hongster is a black guy named David Crowley. And according to CNN, Joy Reid, Nikole Hannah-Jones and the entire MSM, in racist Amerikka there’s a 78% chance that he’ll probably be lynched before the November election.
So keep your head on a swivel, David Crowley.
